Jessie Kuykendall, LMT

Jessie has always loved to learn about the body, mind, and the interconnection between the two. This interest led Jessie to pursue a degree in Exercise Science and Health Psychology as well as a minor in Nutrition. Additionally, to further her education Jessie is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. She graduated from the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute with focus on pain management, sports massage, deep tissue, myofascial release, and trigger point.

Jessie’s journey to massage began with injuries of her own. Jessie was a collegiate Cross Country and Track runner at Westminster College where she grew up in Missouri. Jessie had a very successful career breaking several school records, being a 3-time SLIAC champion in Cross Country and the 5k/10 in Track, and was Runner of the Year 3 times. These achievements led her to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Westminster. Of course, being a competitive runner comes with many injuries over the years. Through working with a variety of fitness professionals Jessie learned a lot about treating injuries and how they are connected to the rest of the body as well. This sparked her interest in how the body moves and compensates for pain, which led to her to pursue a career in massage to understand the body more deeply.

Through Jessie’s experiences being injured she understands the impact of not being able to participate in an activity that you love and the mental and physical pain that comes with it. Jessie provides a deep, intuitive touch during her massages. She strives to meet people where they are and make sure that her clients' needs are met during every session. She has a deep understanding of how the body can compensate for pain, so she addresses the symptoms by finding the root cause. She can also provide corrective exercises, strengthening exercises, and stretching exercises to help aid in pain reduction and provide lasting results. Jessie ultimately hopes to get you back to the activities that bring you joy with no pain.

In her spare time Jessie spends most of her days outside enjoying the beautiful Colorado nature and sunshine either running or hiking with her dogs Zola and Lexi. Jessie also enjoys doing yoga, going to the gym, snuggling up with a good book, spending hours on puzzles, and listening to podcasts.
