After being in a car accident, it's important to be vigilant about your health and watch for any symptoms that may indicate underlying injuries. While some injuries might be immediately obvious, others could have delayed or subtle symptoms that emerge later. Here are some medical symptoms to closely monitor after a car accident:
Headaches or Dizziness: These could be signs of a concussion or other head injury, even if they appear mild initially.
Neck and Shoulder Pain: Pain or stiffness in the neck, shoulders, or upper back could indicate whiplash or other soft tissue injuries.
Back Pain: Lower back pain or discomfort might indicate spinal injuries or damage to muscles, ligaments, or discs.
Numbness or Tingling: These sensations, especially in the arms, hands, legs, or feet, could be indicative of nerve damage or herniated discs.
Changes in Vision or Hearing: Blurred vision, double vision, or hearing problems could be related to head injuries.
Memory Issues or Confusion: These could be signs of a concussion or traumatic brain injury.
Emotional Changes: Mood swings, irritability, anxiety, or depression could be linked to the emotional impact of the accident or head injuries.
Sleep Disturbances: Insomnia, excessive sleepiness, or other sleep disturbances could be related to stress, pain, or injuries.
Changes in Range of Motion: Difficulty moving a limb, joint, or body part could indicate musculoskeletal injuries.
Joint Pain or Stiffness: Joint pain or limited mobility could signal damage to joints or surrounding tissues.
Delayed Symptoms: Some injuries, like concussions, whiplash, or internal injuries, might not show symptoms immediately. Watch for any new or worsening symptoms over the following days and weeks.
It's essential to seek medical attention promptly if you experience any of these symptoms or any other unusual physical or emotional changes after a car accident. Some injuries may worsen if left untreated, and early intervention can lead to better outcomes. Our team has experience and expertise in the treatment of auto accident related injuries. Call today if you’ve been in an accident.

Typically we advise seeking medical treatment and examination as soon as you can following the accident. However, life tends to get in the way and sometimes it has been a few weeks before you can get your schedule to line up with ours. Either way, get in as soon as you can and we can help. Typically in Colorado, the auto insurance will pay for your treatment even if some time has elapsed.

Of course! We love helping to optimize your body in preparation for your next adventure. Address any issues that feel “not right” and perform your best on race day.
